As always its been raining prizes in PSBB Nungambakkam. Students have shown their prowess in various fields ranging from Computer Programming to English Essay Writing.
· Rishab Kohli, S.P.Ambarish, S.K.Ramanandan have won the national level CSI programming contest. They will be representing India in the International Level to be held in October 2010. They have won Rs. 5000 cash award each and an open job offer from Polaris IT Company after graduation.
· Our Bhajan Group has won the First Prize in the Devotees Seva Trust Bhajan Competition held on 29th August 2010. Special Mention about Krithika of XII C was made.
· The following students have won awards in the Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition.

Sports Day
It was the 53rd annual sports meet of PSBB Group of Schools which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on the 16th of July 2010 . The Chief Guest was Sonal V Misra, Deputy Commissioner of Police . The first event for the day was the March Past which was done by the six different contingents namely Office bearers , RSP , then the four houses Red Rose , Blue Bells , Sunflower, and Lotus .
The flag was then hoisted by the Chief Guest . Four students from PSBB KK Nagar had lit the torch . All the house captains moved towards the flag and the oath was taken by the Srihari Sridhar, Sports Secretary of PSBB Nungambakkam. The Chief guest declared the meet open and gave an inaugural speech about the different sports and how they were played. It was now time for the events. There were several events such as 100m running , 4 x 100m Relay , Meadley Relay , Hurdles etc.. The most awaited event of all was the TUG OF WAR between PSBB KK Nagar and PSBB Nungambakkam . As usual it ended in a tie as the rope had been cut.
The demonstrations from each branch followed. It was a treat to the eyes to see the children from the lower classes perform a demonstration with sunflowers in their hands. The students of PSBB Nungambakkam had showcased a drill in which they showed eight different exercises which should be followed everyday to maintain our body fit . Then the KK Nagar students presented an exemplary demonstration on the most loved game, football. They had showed the different tricks with the official music of the Fifa 2010 World Cup .
It was then time for the Prize Distribution Ceremony. All those who won in the events were awarded by the Chief Guest . The flag was then lowered and a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Keerthana Kumar, School Pupil Leader of PSBB KK Nagar.
On the whole it was a day filled with excitement, enthusiasm. The Meet was brought to an end with the singing of the National Anthem.

Prize Distribution Ceremony
14th July 2010. It was the day of the Prize Distribution Ceremony at PSBB Nungambakam. Beaming students, proud parents and teachers – all waited in anticipation for this very day. This day being an extremely significant and momentous day, marked the recognition of students who have showcased their talent at every possible opportunity and proved their worth as a PSBBian through sheer hard work.
The assembled students of Std. X, XI & XII were humbled to have the revered presence of Dr.V.Balakrishnan, Professor Emeritus, Department of Physics, IIT Madras as their chief guest. He is also, the chairman of the Research Science Initiative (RSI), Chennai, setup by the PSBB Group of Schools.
Keeping up the Indian customs, the event began with an invocation to the Lord and was followed by a welcome address to all present. Dr. V. Balakrishnan was then called upon stage to address the gathering. Starting on a humorous note, he advised the students to find their vocation and only then decide the career they would pursue. He added that the key to success is being happy about what one does. Recalling from his experiences, he urged the students to remain confident always.
After his encouraging speech, the Campus Highlights for the academic year 2009-10 were announced. Achievements of all, starting from the very prestigious Padma Shri awarded to Mrs., YG Parthasarathy, Dean & Director were mentioned. Next, the students were felicitated for their brilliant performances in various fields ranging from Music, Language, Academics, Sports and Social Service.
With the Vote of Thanks, the function came to an end. However, it was just the beginning of another year of achievements, hardwork, and many more prizes to PSBB’s bag.

PSBB Main's Blog Kicks Off!
There can be no better occasion to start our school's blog than this week in which our Dean and Director Dr.Mrs.Y.G.Parthasarathy has been nominated to receive one of our nations highest civilian honor, The Padmashree award.
